I was in charge of the illustration cut of pronunciation symbols for English words. In Japanese, there is no such thing as “breath in” or “tongue roll” pronunciation, is there?
Perhaps because I have a simplified touch, I have only drawn U’s and O’s, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the shape of the mouth can vary so much! It was a happy discovery.
By the way, I don’t want to tell you that I was making strange noises like “wah” and “hah” while looking in the mirror.
